KUNINGAN — The Cirombeng Bridge that connects Jabranti Village and Karangkancana Village in Karangkancana District, Kuningan Regency, West Java, collapsed due to a landslide on Saturday, April 8 2023, at 17.30 WIB. The bridge cannot be passed by two, four and larger wheeled vehicles.

The Chief Executive of the Kuningan BPBD, Indra Bayu Permana, said that this incident was caused by high rainfall which caused the Cirombeng river to overflow. This causes the foundation of the bridge to erode and eventually collapse.

“This condition has disrupted access between Jabranti Village and Karangkancana Village and cannot be passed by two-wheeled, four-wheeled and larger vehicles,” said IB, his greeting.

Responding to this, village officials together with sub-district officials, the TNI, POLRI and the Kuningan Regency BPBD have coordinated to deal with this incident quickly.

Village officials have also evacuated affected communities around the bridge.

Currently, what is needed urgently is an emergency bridge that can be used by the community to cross the Cirombeng river. The Chief Executive of the Kuningan BPBD, Indra Bayu Permana, appealed to the public to remain vigilant and be careful when crossing roads and rivers around the area.

The sources of information we got came from members of the Ciwaru Police and Jabranti village officials. The Kuningan BPBD continues to monitor and supervise the development of the situation at the incident location. (Nars/ source: https://kuninganreligi.com/)
